Camel - Moonmadness

The title of the blog, mainly because it happens to be one of my favorite titles for an album, why i don't know.
Released in 1976, this was the british groups 3rd album.
Never immensly popular, but always full of progressive zest and vision, Camels direction was always heading towards bands like Yes and Pink Floyd, rather than The Clash and the Sex Pistols of the day, along with the popularity that ultimately destroyed wht they were all about.
Basically, good keyboards, big sounds on a great prog album.

Key Tracks
1. Aristillus
4. Spirit Of The Water
7. Lunar Sea

Genre: Prog

Silver Apples - Contact

I've just Started getting into this album recently, and thought it'd be a nice way too start the blog.
Released in 1969, this is the 2nd album from Silver Apples, the duo which featured the percussion of Danny Taylor and vocals, oscillations, beeps, buzzes and drones of Simeon, who played an instrument (which was also christened the Simeon), consisted of
"nine audio oscillators and eighty-six manual controls...The lead and rhythm oscillators are played with the hands, elbows and knees and the bass oscillators are played with the feet."
Decades ahead of their time, Silver Apples vanished into obscurity by the end of the 60s, only to reform in the mid 90s and continue to make music until the band's van was involved in an accident returning from a gig, leaving Simeon with a broken neck.
Suicide, Spaceman3 all the way to Laika have adopted ideas and formulas developed by silver apples.

Notable tracks: 3.Ruby Love
6. I Have Known Love
Genre:  Electronic, Drone
